Post Mortem Bruising and Hematoma

I am a writer. I have a victim who has been beaten. I want to say she has multiple contusions and a hematoma on her forehead. Will a hematoma develop after death? If not how long would she need to be alive before it was apparent. I know bruises will appear post mortem
