Math underlies all modern science: physics, chemistry and biology. Forensic scientists do math when they reconstruct a bullet's long-range trajectory or when they determine angles of impact or distance of fall of blood drops. They also use math when they apply statistics or probability to forensic science (i.e when they calculate the frequency of a DNA profile).
