Def not CSI

You will not find the chance to process the scene and then head back to the lab to analyze the evidence outside of television. When you bring evidence pieces back to the station, you will likely do some fingerprint development (black/mag powder, dye staining, photographing, etc.) but any more thorough analyses of the evidence will be done at a proper crime lab, by analysts/techs not by the crime scene investigators. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's just the way it is.
