Stabbed and Then Drowned

If a body that is submerged in water but has some type of puncture wounds to the torso (chest and stomach area)will it remain submerged or float to the top after a period of time. Is the gas released only released in the stomach and chest, the large cavaties of the human corpse, or everywhere?
