good question !
by: ForensicMentor.com

I have a two year old son and husband myself. I work full-time and travel for court. I spend as much time with my family as any working mom. As most serologist work in the lab or testify in court, we aren't on-call for crime scenes. Most jurisdicitions have CSI techninians that do crime scenes and then bring it back to the lab for the scientists to work on. Some use thier scientists in the crime scenes, and yes, that would mean you would have to get up at 2am sometimes when called. But they usually rotate and you would be on one month and off for a couple... not all the time. It isn't like TV at all... ")
