My advice is that you should look into Forensic Accounting. If you want to go into Criminology, which is not a science, you will not need to study Forensic Science. Criminology is connected with Sociology in many aspects and is related with Criminal Justice more so than Forensic Science.

What specality do you want to do ? DNA/Serology ? Crime scenes ? Toxicology ? Fingerprints or General Criminalistics ? That will determine what you should do. In any event, try to volunteer with the area that you want to work in. Hands-on experience counts much more than advanced degrees.

Good Luck !
