Pregnancy and burnt body
by: Anonymous

The uterus in addition to most organs of the body survive incineration. A pregnancy advanced in gestation will be little affected with the body of the foetus able to be removed from the uterus of the body.

Even foetuses of early gestation are able to be observed in the deceased females uterus.
As a Forensic Technician I was involved in assisting with examinations of multiple fatalities in a fire in which a pregnant female was ininerated and part of the medical identification was that one of the female victims was pregnant.

The foetus advanced in gestation was removed at autopsy for sexing and later buried or cremated with the mother.
